At Home Engineering Challenges designed for children aged Kindergarten through Eighth grade provide families with fun engineering-related activities to do at home. The challenges are designed to spur creativity, resourcefulness and promote ingenuity.

Local Resource Guides are activities for children and their families in the broader Whittier community. These activities are intended to promote spending time in nature, family participation and learning for little to no charge.

Our Books of the Month are designed to highlight science and math related picture books to deepen children’s interest in STEM. Each book of the month is accompanied with a link to the audio book, links to purchase, and interactive activities for children.

Science Circus Activity Kits are designed to take hands-on activities on the go! Whether at an after-school program or at home, these kits include directions, prompts and materials lists for a variety of engaging activities. Currently, Whittier College students plan and implement these kits with local after-school programs. Each month, one kit is made available for pick-up through the Whittier Public Library.

Family STEM Events are designed to bring families together as they engage in hands-on activities that are facilitated by Whittier College undergraduate students. Events are typically held in the mid-afternoon at local elementary schools. While we cannot hold these larger-scale events right now, we eagerly anticipate their return!
